gRegor: on the webmention stuff from last night: the thing is, I want the replies to be shown on my site. if there's nothing other than bridgy fed that really does this, then I'll just deal with that, but if there is smth else then I'd like to use it. webmention.io looks interesting, but at that point I might as well just use webmentions directly and parse them myself.

you don't strictly have to support webmentions to use Bridgy Fed, it's just a nice-to-have if you want replies to flow back and show up on your site.

snarfed right now I'm not using bridgy at all. the only thing I'm doing html parsing for is I have smth that scrapes the minecraft.net page for all articles and generates an rss feed from that lol

also solonovamax I'm curious how the webmention format feels bad. you're using a microformats2 parser to parse bridgy fed's source pages, right?

I'm thinking of using bridgy fed, however the webmention format is, how do I say this... kinda Bad. I do not particularly want to add a bunch more jsoup to my codebase.

if nothing else really exists, I'll just use bridgy fed, and any good existing implementations for handling webmentions that I could use as a basis for mine would be great.

[tantek] the concrete problem is feed autodiscovery on https://qwantz.com/ with an mf2 parser. https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues/2255
