Emissary is a revolutionary next-gen Web platform that lets you tinker with every little bit of it. It works with the #Fediverse, is built on #IndieWeb principles, and looks incredible. https://wedistribute.org/2024/04/emissary-social-web/ (https://social.wedistribute.org/objects/f109d336-ccaf-4256-8058-eab8d29ec952)

If it were free software and we could just browse it ourselves to verify how it works and what exactly it stores, that would be a big improvement

That's an odd form of PESOS (using reposts) but I guess it works.

The more I think about this (Netlify image cdn), the less I understand how it works. I can see how accept-headers can be used to determine the image format, but how does it handle image size? I think I'd have to specify the size in the special url. But at the moment I simply offer the browser four sizes, and let /it/ pick.

So, if I make the Kind functionality in the rest api fully consistent with how it works under the hood, then the front end part with blocks should be easier.

It works pretty well, but there are severe limitations, such as not being able to dynamically refer to other pages during build, since there is no database or anything. All links are static. The archive page is an exception of course but it has special logic.

Few people internalize all aspects associated with these gigantic services. Google Search is a great example. It works simply enough to find things I am looking for it becomes hard to imagine it exists as a moment in time and may not act the same way tomorrow. Being around as long as I have I remember when a googlebomb worked and would begin to rise in rank, then eventually drop. It's worse now. And same with reach on a TikTok, Instagram

@btrem (https://matrix.to/#/%40irc_libera_btrem%3Amtx.bacardi55.io) In case you don't know, you can use a \ at the end of the line in your markdown to add a <br> (like you, I remove all spaces at the end of the line, so that's the way it works for me)
