so the issue is, that the site-user setting should define what user can authorize the blog (root domain). so that is a bug! I will work on a fix

Interesting. Does the plugin install process ask a question like "Are you the only author on this site?" [Yes] [No, multiple authors]. That could make the selection more clear

wow, ok. so, I have two users - ryandc and ryan - and I've tried all three Site User options. setting it to None or ryan make it return me=https://snarfed.org/author/ryandc . setting it to ryandc makes it return me=https://snarfed.org/ . that is...the opposite of what I'd expect
