[fosstodon.org/@jnv] Really miss using this phone, the Samsung Note 9. I wrote this blog post recently and perfect day to share about android phones. https://getoffmylawn.neocities.org/posts/240509oldphonememories #blog #indieweb #openweb (https://fosstodon.org/@jnv/112441227420967076)

my micropub endpoint has some logic for sorting posts automatically, based on a combination of whether i've selected a category in the micropub client, what the micropub client is authorized to post to, and the contents of the post (whether it has a photo, a trip, what kind of trip it is, etc)

i used to have top-level pages based on post type and moved away from that model because it was too limiting

my top-level pages do not explicitly sort by post type, instead i can choose which posts go into each arbitrarily

a lot of the things in /notes are actually photo posts by all definitions of a photo post, but I choose to post them at /notes instead of /photos, since my /photos page shows photos in a grid layout instead

[Joel_Auterson]: this is part of my whole "don't treat post types as organizational" on my site

[aaronpk] has an approach i like - the 'notes' section on the website does contain some images, whereas the 'photos' section is what i would call "actual photos", if that makes sense. would be interested to know how you distinguish them under the hood Aaron, my understanding is that https://aaronparecki.com/2024/05/13/20/duolingo for example would still be a "photo post" in microformats parlence? (also congrats, I'm just a few days

I quite often post screenshots of WIP game stuff but I don't think of that as a "photo", as such

In my case this isn’t actually about featured images in link previews, it’s just that I have notes with photos in and also notes, no separate concept of a photo post. I can probably rework that.

We've talked about this before, and determined that "u-featured" is a much more accurate semantic for "*include* this photo in this post" whereas "u-photo" means "make this a photo post with this photo"
