[jgmac1106] if only the microformats plugin could be smart about that and rather than tell people "You do NOT install microformats", it could do the right thing, detecting perhaps if it is needed or not in such a situation, and quietly doing nothing, perhaps with a notice informing the user that their #indieweb WordPress theme is already taking care of good markup.

Okay peeking at microformats plugin I think the author property nested in h-card is easy fix, not injecting dtpublished.... No idea... But think I can do that in the theme

Go through a theme, search out any hentry or old h level properties from old microformats, do the same for vcard, then install the microformats pluging
