[snarfed] I didn't write the discord bridge, so I don't have a lot of options to change how it works

I think at one point Discord threads would just bridge to the channel and it was a big confusing mess. I don’t know what it’s like now.

[Paul_Lieberman] Canonical view is the irc / web view. The bridge is a nicety. I like the Slack best. But also do Discord. Whatever works best for you. I avoid using threading but will mention names when replying to someone, as I am to you here.

And a small warning [Paul_Lieberman] -- that threads in either Slack _*or*_ Discord do not bridge, so as opposed to other forums, do *not* use threads unless you're sure you're talking only to one person. Max visibility = no thread.

probably it's mostly that i'm used to it. also the difficulties around the discord<=>irc bridge early on. (i recognize the slack bridge has also had plenty of difficulties over the years)

Hello again IndieWeb! I'm coming in through the Discord bridge and have no idea how successful this will be.

Discord bridge has two types of nicknames: with [d] postfix and from user IWDiscord. Question: what the difference?

Previous post looks good on discord, but breaks the link on irc web bridge with trailing > . I'll watch link+edit behavior and see what works best, thanks for the feedback.
