my micropub endpoint has some logic for sorting posts automatically, based on a combination of whether i've selected a category in the micropub client, what the micropub client is authorized to post to, and the contents of the post (whether it has a photo, a trip, what kind of trip it is, etc)

i.e. if you can find a representative h-card or other directly algorithmic primary object, then use that, else fallback to a sorting heuristic of sorts of the top-level objects

yeah a better approach than any kind of "removing the objects" approach would be sorting the top level objects based on a set of heuristic criteria assigned point values

Oh weird. I’ll look into it, thanks! I realize now that the RSS feed readers and validators were re-sorting them based on the date value, not the actual underlying order.

Whoa, weird. I wonder what it’s intended purpose is? Maybe for tagging messages for search or sorting into filters, like adding a plus sign to the end of an address.

I've got a tentative item in my posts-to-write list for sorting through my thoughts on some of those questions; not sure when or if, though. It's interesting to try to keep up with the conversation though.

I also have a notion of having, like, multiple channels with different policies for sorting/expiration/etc. so that like, social feeds don’t overwhelm newsy stuff

Interesting idea of sorting messages by length (word count even). We had a case with payed GitHub support and guess what: their reporting interface tells you that if your inquire is shorter than X characters (a hundred or two?) it will be "starred" and usually responded to faster!

This was based on sorting by date primarily, and having very variable in links.
